About Nicole Miles Coaching

Hi!

I'm Nicole.

I love the ocean, skiing, Lake Powell, and watching my boys play baseball. I have a BA in Psychology from BYU-Hawaii and an MS in Special Education from Utah State University. I started working with kids with ADHD in the schools in 2004 as a special education aide and from there went on to get my teaching license and a Masters Degree in special education. I taught in schools in a variety of special education settings for 5 years – from diagnostic kindergarten to middle school reading. The majority of my teaching years were spent as a Kindergarten and first-grade teacher in a school-based mental health day treatment program for students with severe behavioral and emotional disorders. I was able to apply so much knowledge in that setting and the lessons I learned from my students and the wonderful people I worked with led me on the path I found myself on years later when I had my own children.

For the last 12 years, I have been applying all the work and education experience I gained during my years in special education to parenting my own 3 children – all of which have been diagnosed with ADHD. I have been there. I am still there. I have read the books, discussed the research at family parties (being married to a second-generation child psychologist helps), and found the things that work for our family and MANY that don’t. I have battled with teachers and principals, lost sleep over school placement decisions, spent hours scrubbing an entire tub of Aquaphor off the ONE nice piece of furniture we have and lost my cool more times than I can count. I KNOW what you are going through. I am down in the trenches with you. But my years of education, work experience, and life experience have all led me here. And now I want to share all of these resources with you.

I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH. AND I CAN HELP.
